Guess What! I'm 1!!

Thanks to Jay Elkins for getting some great shots of crazy Will. Will always seemed to be running in the wrong direction or standing so that the sun was behind him.
We had a great party today. Pictures of the epic cake eating soon to follow.

The Experiment

Today I decided to start training Max a little bit better in cleaning up after himself. But the thought of a regular old chore chart seemed very mundane and well...like a chore. So instead I had Max choose a theme of a variety of stickers I had bought (at Target). He chose the ocean theme. So we spent part of the morning coloring together, and now whenever he helps to clean up in the evening before his daddy comes home, he gets to add another sticker to his underwater world. When the picture is complete, we will do something special. So we will see how this strategy works. The goals: a beautiful picture, a tidy home and a boy who knows how to pick up his things.

Snow + Starbucks = Perfect Morning

Sunday, December 26, 2010 it snowed in Columbia. Max sang "Jingle Bells" on the way to church. Once we got there, however, our church was locked, and we had an hour to kill. So we had the wonderful treat of enjoying Starbucks as a family. Coffee, Chai Tea Latte, a kid's hot chocolate and a flaky buttery roll made all four of us very happy. We sipped our beverages and watched Columbia turn white. It was a perfect morning.

Ode to Spicher

I can't believe it has taken me this long to post a picture of Michael Spicher on my blog.

These pictures are from Belize. He and Hannah went there for vacation. Max is obsessed with knocking Spicher's hat off with water. While we were in Austria, Max saw a shirt and said we should buy it for Spicher. Yes, Max refers to him as either Michael Spicher or simply Spicher.
